Worth separating out: the vehicle that is late back. That is not a scheduling failure, it is an
operational one, and no system prevents it. What a system can do is tell you at 8am that the
vehicle due back at noon is going out again at 2pm, so you have four hours to make a call rather
than four minutes.
Knowing early is most of the fix.
Double bookings are embarrassing and they cost you the customer, but they are rarely anybody's
carelessness. They are what happens when a business outgrows the number of places a person can
check at once.
